History
In the spring of 1960, eleven asian co-eds of the University of Southern California, organized the need to foster sisterhood among Asian women and to stimulate an inter-cultural exchange among themselves, and their fellow students at USC. These eleven chapter members, with the help of Miss Shirley Barclay, counselor of Women's Organization, and the sponsor Mrs. Theodore Chen, drew up the sorority constitution which was officially approved on May 6th, 1960.

On June 10th, 1960, these eleven young women were formally presented as the Delta Phi Kappa sorority at the Thunderbird Hotel at El Segundo.
